By far our longest project – starting in 2006 and commencing in 2011 – but also one of the most fun. This was a continuation of a remodel started by the homeowners and included a top-to-bottom update and modernizing of a 1970’s quad-level home. The homeowners had kicked off their remodel by combining two bedrooms on the main floor into one large master, and enlarging the full bath on this floor to include a Jacuzzi tub and separate glass block shower, as well as heated floors. To move forward we designed and installed a custom wall unit to house entertainment electronics, as well as the homeowners’ book collection. New furniture for the living and dining rooms was selected and purchased and two wingback chairs that had been in the family for many years were re-upholstered and given new life to create a second seating area in the long living room. A modern paint palette was chosen to accentuate the homes open feel and crown molding was added to the public areas. Custom sliding window panels were created for the foyer to take advantage of the high ceilings, as well as custom drapery in the living room and wood blinds in the rest of the home. The original wrought iron railings were powder coated and reinstalled in foyer leading to the main level of the house. New lighting, doors and accessories were also chosen. The lower level of the home also receive a complete update including new tile in the bar, full bath and laundry room, new plush carpet, lighting and window treatments. All new paint colors, interior doors and lighting were also added. In the full bath on this level, heated floors were installed along with a new vanity and counter, toilet and new fixtures in the shower.
